At the last Youth professionals Meeting folks were wired with Ideas. Doug Mace, lead us in the devotional thought. It was Hot, thanx Doug. The discussion that came out of that devotion could have been the whole meeting, it was that good. Since it was a working meeting we got down to business and came out with a few ideas.
Here are some of them not in any particular order:
- WorshipFest – SECC youth come together to have a praise service.
- SECC Youth Congress
- and some other stuff you should have been there to hear
So look for these two events in the future. If your a youth or YA pastor and you want to know what happened and want to help mold where the Youth and Young Adult ministry is headed, gimme a Call.

I just got off the phone with Magic Mountain for our youth to go at a discounted rate and get fed too. I know that youth at my church look forward to our yearly magic mountain trip like a kid looks forward to Christmas. So I am sure that this is something your kids would love to do also. The details such as cost are still in the works but I know that FOOD is the biggest cost at any amusement park, which will be in this package. The tentative date is July 13, 2008. Our group will have their own private picnic area with an all-you-can-eat menu to last for an hour and a half. What are your thoughts?

Well this i my first blog and most of you reading this might be wondering what am I blogging for. Well, I know that we all don’t read our mail, our email or listen to our voice mail. So Ive decided to add one more form of info for you to ignore. So I’ll just be talking to myself and maybe a handful of folks who want to know what is happening in the Youth & Young Adult ministries of the conference. Oh yeah, I haven’t introduced myself. I’m Eric Penick (Pastah P) and I am the new associate director for youth and young adults at Southeastern California Conference. I’ll be blogging about what is happening around the conference and what new plans are being planted. Throwing some ideas out there and seeing what sticks. Basically, this blog is the off site lab and open think tank.
Here is a glimpse of what is happening in the planning & activity crock pot:
1. Mission trips for ‘08
2. Youth Professionals Meetings
3. Youth Assistant Applications ( reviewing & assessing current placements and applicants)
4. Meeting with different ministry groups and association
5. Setting dates for events (area beach vespers, rallies, ya know the stuff you expect and love.)
6. Youth
7. And this Blog
Check the calendar for the official dates and feel free to hit me up anytime.
